![]() AERLINTHE JOURNAL CONTENTS:
Aerfalle Keep
This section describes another trip to the Keep - it is NOT the same group as the one in the previous sections about the quest. This group was with Baalzevuv... Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures - the lag in the place was pretty bad, so I had to turn down the graphics. If you remember from the last section, we ran straight from the Tenkarrdun Caldera down to the Relic Town. This section describes how to get to the Relic Town from the drop-off point on Aerlinthe. First, one must get to the place. If you refer back to the Quick Familiarization section, you'll remember the Undead Town where Smith Ejan can be found. Well, at this point in the quest, the town gets overrun by a bunch of nasty critters, one of which will create a portal upon death. So... first one must get to the Undead Town. Fastest way - through Raina's Harbor. Hard? Hell yes! Do not stop. Ever. Run like hell. You stop, you die (unless in a safe spot, of which one or two exist). You will get all kinds of debuffs on you, so you want to prepare by casting Impenetrability, Bludgeon Bane, and Fire Bane on all your Armor pieces. Then, buff with all Life Protections, Sprint Self, Quickness Self, and Strength Self (you will get a Weakness debuff along the way). RUN!
![]() Once you get close to the village, buff and get ready. Once the portal is opened, hop in! I believe you get a greeting committee right at the beginning as well, but I am not 100% sure - I was downloading while I heard the others' magic mantras. This is the portal that you must enter: ![]() This place is pretty damn tough. As you go through the Keep, you will meet numerous Cursed and Relic Bones (and I mean, MANY), Diamond Golems, Vapor Golems, Dark Revenants, Wisps, etc. When down in the Sewers part of the Keep, you will also meet Rats.. a whole boatload of them. The place does look pretty cool though:
![]() Now, there is one thing that really pissed me off about the place - Dispel Traps. These things are NASTY! Think the Lugian Excavation, except worse. I STRONGLY suggest to build up a special set for the Keep - Armor VI, Bludgeon Protection and Fire Protection Self VI. Make sure these are wearable at the same time - for example, Armor and Bludgeon pants, and the Fire bracelet. If you hit a Dispel trap, these will not be dispelled, thus possibly saving your life! The Item spells are not dispelled - that's a good thing, and that's why it's a must to buff your Armor. Check out the left screenshot - you'll see how all of my buffs were dispelled =) You can actually avoid the traps - do a full standing jump over the tiles that have the trap on them. On my second run through the Keep, the only time I was dispelled was in the final treasure room.
![]() After much fighting and rebuffing, one may finally get to the end. The screenshot above on the right is actually right before Lady Aerfalle. As soon as you get through that hall where everyone is hitting the Dispel Traps, you'll see Lady Aerfalle. However, she usually doesn't live very long: ![]() The Lady herself carries the Staff of Aerfalle and the Key to the treasure chest. Once you kill her, start moving back - you must now fight back to the Treasure Room. Make sure that the person who has the Key does not die - no loot for you! The chest has the Pallium (the black robe that Lady Aerfalle wears), Ashbane, and some other loot. There's a Dispel trap right at the entrance to the room, so be careful. ![]() So, let's check out the great rewards of this quest, shall we? On to Rewards |
