![]() AERLINTHE JOURNAL CONTENTS:
TuskersNote: this section is aimed for a more advanced Aerlinthe explorer than the previous sections... Well, there is only one type of Tusker on the Isle of Aerlinthe - the Silver Tusker. This species is level 120 and is very similar in stats to its Direlands counterpart Tusker Guard. If you are reading this, you have probably encountered Tusker Guards before. So, you know how they act... if they see you, they run up, mumble, and beat the living crap out of you. ![]() So, what is the difference between Silver Tuskers and other types of apes? These guys are 21k experience a piece (not bad, but nothing to drool over really), and they are pretty damn tough to hit. Their Magic Defense is believed to be 290, but they act as if their Defense was around 320 =) These guys also have pretty high Melee and Missile Defenses. To make sure you don't get annihilated right away, buff as you would for regular Tuskers - Impenetrability and Bludgeon Bane on your Armor (or Robe) and Gauntlets (if you wear Gaunts at all, now that Mage Armor covers hands). I also suggest buffing your underwear - shirt and pants, it helps reduce damage. Make sure you have Armor Self and Bludgeoning Protection on, buff your Magic Schools, and attack! Here's the basic list of steps I follow while fighting in a group of Tuskers:
Typically you will encounter groups of three or more Tuskers at a time. Most will exhibit regular Tusker behavior - hit you a couple times and then run away, unless you engage in the fight. As for loot, Silver Tuskers drop loot that can be argued to be more expensive that regular Tusker loot, but that's about it. In other words, junk.
![]() So, you are probably asking, where the hell do I find these guys? Well, that's the trick. Silver Tuskers live in the mountains of Aerlinthe. They are almost always accompanied by groups of Altered and Augmented Drudges, Firestorms/Hellfires, Skeletons, Nightmare and Fire Wisps, Virindi Observers, etc. So, here's a word of advice: BE READY. That means, have all your Life protections on at all times unless you are 100% sure you know what you are doing. There are really no fixed spawns of Tuskers - they are random. You have to get up in the mountains and look for them. They can be found just about anywhere up in the mountains - near the Tenkarrdun Crater, near the Foundry, etc. Please, however, be careful!
